A late 1970s West German Kerafina (Royal KPM) ceramic ‘Swing’ vase
Description
Op Art, Art Nouveau, Mid-Century Modern... so many styles and influences feed into the 'Swing' range of vessels released by Royal KPM of Bavaria in 1974. Formed in bisque, this hallmark range features moulded undulating curving forms, decorated in a sprayed graduated (spritz-decor) colou - here in green. The piece is finished with a light gloss glaze. The base is marked as shown in the photographs, and is also moulded with the shape or mould number '755/21'. Royal KPM were founded in 1949 and closed in the 1990s. This design displays wonderfully whether it's being used for flowers or not, and it's superbly evocative of the era.
21cm high, 9.5cm widest.
Condition
In excellent original vintage condition with no cracks or chips. If I'm being very fussy, there are a couple of very (very) tiny speckles in places, such as on the lightest green area of one side, but this occurred in production and can be found on many such bisque pieces of any period.
