‘Composition’ a 1960s signed abstract lithograph by Marcelle Cahn.
Description
Arranged in simple black lines of varying width, this geometric composition is typical of Cahn's avant-garde style and echoes Constructivist works. Published in 1966 by Editions Panderma, Carl Laszlo, in Basel, this examples is signed in pencil by her.
Sold together with a French language illustrated exhibition catalogue titled 'marcelle cahn: oeuvres de 1915 à 1975' published by Galerie Denise René of Paris, October & November 1975, and a thick paper colophon for a limited edition folio of Cahn's lithographs published by J.E. Wolfensberger signed by her in pencil and numbered 59.
Condition
The lithograph and colophon are both in excellent condition, and are clean clean and crisp. The lithograph is professionally mounted with triangular slip corners onto thin white card, with a mount made from similar card attached to the back card with tape.
Lithograph size 23.8cm high, 17.5cm wide. Overall size 31.1cm high, 21.2cm wide.
